Location: Based at our Leighton House, Rednal – but must be prepared to work at any Headway building and requires own vehicle to travel around Birmingham & Solihull as required
Headway Birmingham & Solihull is recruiting for a professional, self motivated person with good leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills, to join our Lifestyle Services team.
The Lifestyle Service aims to offer brain injured people the opportunity to develop and maximise their skills, independence and personal goals. To access the community with support to attend social activities, group sports, appointments and develop their daily living skills. In many cases this will also provide respite to the family. This is delivered by providing 1to1 support workers for individuals.
As a client supervisor you will supervise a team of support workers to ensure the smooth running of the service including organising the day-to-day staff rotas and timetables, as well as supporting our brain injured clients to achieve their own personal goals
The Client Supervisor will monitor the cover on a rota with the team and respond to ‘on duty’ calls to ensure clients receive a service and staff receive support & guidance. You will be required to provide cover to clients in the absence of the support worker.
You will deal with assessments and care plans for clients and be involved in the referral procedure.
You will assist the manager in the running of the service including co-ordinating the team to ensure that all shared responsibilities are fulfilled and systems maintained.
The successful candidate will need to communicate in a variety of different methods and be prepared to deal with challenging situations. You will also be expected to work on your own initiative and show patience and understanding.
You will have a proven track record of motivating others including carrying out supervision meetings. You will have experience of working with adults with disabilities, monitoring the care provided and identifying and resolving issues arising from the ‘day to day’ operation.
Candidates should have NVQII Health and Social Care and ideally have experience of working with brain injured people / people with disability
An enhanced DBS disclosure is required. Expense will be met by Headway Birmingham & Solihull
